Using drop shippers


Using drop shippers for your online or offline business should require the same dedication, hard work, planning and most importantly; RESEARCH.

If you think you can signup up with a drop shipper, search for a few products you like or think will sell well because they are popular and wait for the sales and profits to flow in your pocket while you're watching TV, think again.

Drop shipping is not a magic business opportunity. In fact, it shouldn't even be viewed as an "opportunity" as many do. Alot of people that join drop shippers are disapointed and quit after a month or two because they haven't made any sales. They often blame the drop shipper.

Drop shippers are simply suppliers, like so many others. the only difference is that a drop shipper will sell you one item at a time and ship it directly to your client while most suppliers will require you to purchase in bulk with minimum order requirements. Usually drop shippersr will give you excellent pricing right off the bat too; if you think of getting good pricing with these big suppliers right off the bat... open an account with a big supplier like Ingram Micro for example and see what type of pricing they give you if you're not already selling millions of dollars per year. Of course, you will only get to be dispapointed with the high prices you'll be paying once you're approved because they will not tell you that before you pay the setup fee of 200.00$ and go through the application process.

Sorry to disapoint you, but drop shippers are not a business opportunity; they are suppliers. While some may help you in your business endeavors by building you an e-commerce sytem, supplying you with marketing tips and tricks and help you with suggestions; the real work of researching product niches, marketing and adveritising your business is YOUR responsability.

In order to use drop shippers succesfuly, you will need to search for products with a good demand and little competitio, otherwise known as a niche.

Then you'll need to make a plan. How are you going to market these products? Who are you going to market them to? How will you be advertising? + all the other steps required to setup a succesfull business.

The moment you stop relying on others to make your business succesfull and put the responsability on your shoulders to MAKE it work and get to work on it is the moment you are starting a real business and all it implicates.

Use dropship suppliers as what they are because they will save you time and money, not because doing so will automaticaly put thousands of dollars in your pocket. Everything worth having, is worth working for.
